Hello all, I’m writing at the end of the week instead of the beginning, but I wanted to share a recipe and how to freeze carrots with you. Please check the recipe tab for these two recipes.
In your crate this week you had tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic, carrots, carnival winter squash, baby kale, edamame, radish, some had salad mix, thursday had eggplant (don’t worry Tuesday you’ll get more too), Tuesday had a kohlrabi, and there have been little bits of broccoli, cauliflower, bunches of collard, kale or chard, oh yeah, and peppers. I think I got it all.
I want to send out a big Thank You to Terry Swier, she has been a consistent cheerleader and now that school is back in session she is coming Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00am (that is early when you’re retired!) to help us harvest. She is good company and a great help. Also Thank You to Sharon S., she popped in for a surprise visit and to help harvest on Tuesday. We’ve also been blessed with three other volunteers that have come several times this harvest year, Brian C., Ben and Ryan. Volunteers have been a great help, we appreciate all you do and you being around helps keep us energized.
You are welcome to volunteer anytime, Tuesdays and Thursdays are good fun and usually you walk away with extra food. And no, you don’t have to have a beard to volunteer.
