Sign Up’s, Payments, Deadlines

All these years and we’ve not set a formal deadline for our CSA sign up/payment.

Thus far, we’ve all been nurtured without setting a deadline. We do especially need early payments though.

Much like every CSA, our rationale for your early sign up/payment is this: Our planning and our major expenses usually concentrate from late December through March (this year into April, see below). Yes, that early! Long before the traditional outdoor growing season.

Frankly: The earlier your sign up/pay the better for you and the better for us!

As far as planning: we plan for a certain sized CSA. Your early sign up/payment helps streamline where/how I spend my time. Once mid March hits, my time becomes spread thinner. If I can be well along (better yet: done!) with attracting sufficient CSA shareholders, all the better. (This helps calm my nerves, helps settle my inner Nervous Ned).

Your early sign up/payment lets me get growing for you!

We have always held a special place in our hearts and minds for our returning shareholders. You know this! Just let us know what your plan is, asap.

you’d better be especially quick though!

these are in limited supply

We all need more than just vegetables, right? Who doesn’t like sides? Right on. But they’ll be in limited supply, so sign up/pay asap.

We have been dedicated to getting our good food to you. We do have payment plans for our CSA. Just get in touch with me. We’ve launched a formal scholarship share too. Your contributions will help bring food to others. (If you have ideas for a better name than “scholarship share”, please let me know.) We’d also highly recommend a crate mate, if you do not want a full share.

Since our start, we have built our CSA upon this:

This CSA brings you and us, the Farm and the food, together. You support stewardship of the farm and food when you buy a share of the upcoming harvest. As partners in community and agriculture, we pledge to share the benefits of abundance and the risks of failure. We will all do our best to nurture this CSA this season.

You have all agreed! We greatly appreciate this.

Thus far, we’ve all been nurtured without setting a deadline. We do especially need early payments though.

Once our CSA is full to capacity, we are full. We often have a wait list.

We have not rebated for early sign ups. Our share price is accurate as is.

This season is a bit different for us financially. On top of our usual expenses, in April we have a new annual tractor payment (from now until 2020). Yep, one payment per year for 6 years. This is a significant, additional, early expense we must meet.

So, yes, to reiterate, the sooner the better for your sign up/payment!

thank you!
